Educational assessment at Hamraskóli
At Hamraskóli, we work with and assess the competence criteria of the National Curriculum set for each subject. On Mentor, you can view a student's competence profile, which includes numerous competence criteria for each subject.
Efforts focused on aligning competency standards between education levels while ensuring consistent student progression in learning from grade to grade. Schools must enter educational assessments into Mentor and share them with parents at least every 12 weeks. Student progress should be shared more frequently as assessments are conducted.
Rubric
The rubric defines six exam grades: A, B+, B, C+, C and D.
Students who demonstrate exemplary competency receive an A exam grade, while those who don't meet the requirements for a B exam grade receive a C. A D exam grade indicates that a student's competency does not meet the standards outlined for a C exam grade, and schools are expected to document student competency based on an individualized curriculum and plan.

Rubric definitions
